Have you ever assembled do-it-yourself furniture? You unpack the box, take out all the parts, try to make sense of the instructions, and then you go to work hoping that you’ll end up with something useful.

Sometimes, those of us who are trying to walk a spiritual path haven’t had a new idea or a new experience in years. Like an adult who still reads nothing but children’s books, we’re stuck in a very limited concept of who God is, who we are, and what Life is calling us to be.

Meister Eckhart, the medieval theologian and philosopher wrote:

If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is ‘Thank you,’ it would be enough.

In recent years a saying has been making the rounds: It’s all good.  I have no idea where this got started, and I’m not sure that I believe it.  I can think of plenty of things that, in my opinion, are not good.
